Grrrr, now that pissed me off more than I've pissed off in a long time
Flipping through channels on TV, came across an innocent looking kids show. It actually ended up being some religious show for children preaching . . . ready for this?

Why they should grow up and join the military. Their justification? They used John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Tried to say that God wants kids to join the military.

What the FUCK is wrong with these people?

1. That verse, then, could also...
...make a good recruiting pitch for street gangs.

5. People had better get a grip on what they believe
and we'd better be ready to come back with our own message. How many times are we to forgive our enemies. 70 x 7. Turn the other cheek etc. I have long felt that this election was based on false gods and false people. Look what we get to watch them do now.

17. It's not about what you believe.
It's about what you know.

I know that it is fundamentally good to do unto others as I would have them do unto me. For reason of that knowledge, I would not manufacture rationales to attack other people or nations.

7. Ladies and Gentlemen; Give a big welcome to.....
...the Falwell Five!!

(Crowd goes wild)

The group bows, then leads the audience in prayer and launches into "George Bush loves the little children..."

10. The thing is that they have...
Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 08:25 AM by itzamirakul
misrepresented EVERYTHING and twisted so many lies into "FACTS" that the non-thinking are willing to accept, that now the water is all muddy. They have stirred many of our core beliefs into the "stew" of lies that they feed their constituents, so that it APPEARS that we have no reason to complain.

They are so slippery with their methods that sometimes it seems nearly impossible to refute some of their ridiculous claims - as soon as you get hold of one lie, they tell another and another and another so that we are still trying to unravel and expose the first lie when they are on the fifth lie. By then, the first lie seems irrelevant. We have to learn to get AHEAD of their lies instead of following behind and trying to make corrections. That is what is so frustrating. What was it that one of Bush's aides said? Something about "We will define reality for you?"

11. This is terrible, but those are the kids I want to join the military....
Someone is going to have to fight george bush's wars -- cause the bee hive he is creating will not end even if the dems do take over the govt in 2006/2008. Bush is creating violence that will last a decade or more. So.... if the fundies' kids are duped into dying for jesus/georgie, so be it.

The verse states that we should lay down our life for our friends. The Dude who put the Duh in Duh-bya is no friend of mine.

16. The Government is always your friend
You must pay the president his due respect he is our president.

our president wakes up every morning thinking of how he can better protect us

The American dream is God's gift to the world. we must bring it to them whther they want it or not.

the president has a moral mandate from the majority of people.

ZAP>>>>>>>>>BEEEEEEP..huh?....what the hell was that.. I blacked out...was I talking?
