It worked for Thomas Paine(the famous pamphleteer)and his "Common Sense" publication that kicked off the revolution we now call the United States Of America. It will work for us too. Its NEWS posted to community locations. On the internet, we call this community a blog like "Democratic Underground" or its a Yahoo/Google group, or a mailing lists. In the offline community there are those that answer polls with "No Opinion, and I don't know" believe it or not many of our neighbors are not news hounds or political junkies. These folks do gather around community information wells to see whats going on, and these drinking spots are
local cork bulletin boards where ever they may be.
The people we want to reach are the ones that vote for someone because the candidate's name has a nice ring to it, or they vote GOP because dad did. They know more about the members of the Survivor cast than they did about who they voted for. Regardless of what we think of that, these people do vote, and they can influence elections. Some of them only hear politics on hate radio. Its up to us to change that.
We are taking a message to them so we can help take back our country. We will create a regular consistent message nationwide on a weekly basis. These messages are also being echoed to the Rapid Response Network(2500 members) that send spunky letters to the editor for further consistency.
Welcome to Operation Red Alert (OpRa-pronounced Oprah) a `News bulletin' that is brief and punchy. It will be put together weekly for people who have the printers, thumbtacks, "gumption & cajones" to post in their local areas. "Americans for Common Sense" has formed to make this happen. We are a newly forming group (very new) that has the single minded purpose of taking important messages from the Blogosphere to the public in a manner in which those that do not always catch the news, or pay much attention to political news will hopefully see it.

Brief messages like these two: (or better if you have better ideas)
Three Years and Two Wars no intelligence reform
Three years after 9/11 some senators said Sunday that it is doubtful congress will pass the intelligence reform bill when members return for two days in December. Other senators indicated the progress of the bill would more likely be determined by the importance President Bush and Vice President Cheney place on it by lobbying for its passage. The reform was recommended by the now famous 9/11 commission which was promoted by survivors of the tragedy.

No End in Sight for War Weary soldiers
Soldiers are only supposed to be deployed once every four years, but almost a third of US military called to war in Afghanistan and Iraq has served multiple extended tours. The Army National Guard has seen a 30 percent decrease in people signing up. Many soldiers are talking of leaving instead of re-enlisting. Weekend soldiers from the guard and reserve who left jobs and family are deployed more often than full time soldiers.

Each week you will get a new FLYER in either PDF or regular RTF text format to print out and post. All you have to do is sign up to get them. Sounds easy? YUP! It is.
I posted some in three locations in RURAL TX east of Austin. Two of them are on market bulletin boards and one is in teeny tiny community in the country in the Laundromat. That was 10 DAYS AGO. They are still there. The idea was born and it's spreading. Now I will get news items to post weekly. My audience will start to expect my little news alerts. Sometimes this is about as much news as some people want or have time for.
You can participate in the creation of the messages as well. Please read how these messages are being selected here.

If this continues to grow it could eventually move to another location. It was started a week ago and we have about 150 members signed up to post consistent clear messages nationwide!
Where can you post news? The revolution will not be televised, and it will expand beyond the internet by people like you taking the message out to the public.
Print a few and carry them with you to post everywhere. Put them in with your bills, put them in the junk mail return envelopes (postage paid) and send them off, leave one in the office bathroom, or any place you can dream up where the ideas will be seen.
