Kucinich Meetup Tonight
I attended the DK meetup in Roanoke (SW VA). A handful showed up and some goals were set. We are all impressed at the speed of the DK campaign and hope to keep it rolling ahead. Not much else to report, but I just wanted to keep you fine folks updated.

-alec

p.s. anyone in the SW VA region want to get involved? let me know!

Send me any ideas/heads up/info/whatever you might have. Anything will help. (Thats the beauty of the internet: democracy from the comfort of your own home!)

My immediate goals are to: 1) spread the word to my Green friends that Nader supports DK 2) Write an editorial or two for my college paper 3) Get Dennis down here. He could really light this place up!

2. I just came from the Minneapolis Meet=Up
I attended the DK campaign meeting two weeks ago, and there were about thirty people there. I didn't attend the campaign meeting this week, but at the Meet-Up tonight, there were about twenty people who were not at the campaign meeting that I attended, along with three or four whom I had seen before.

This was more of a "get-acquainted" meeting for new supporters than anything else. Organizers distributed campaign materials, got everyone's contact information, urged them to attend the campaign meetings, and talked about how the caucus system works.

3. DK campaign picking up major steam here
I am in Humboldt county, northern California. He is catching on bigtime! This grassroots movement is organizing like you would not believe and gee, not a $2000.00 hotdog to be sold.

Lots of great stuff for sale on his website btw!

8. I don't know how many supporters but ...
I met-up with a guy registering voters today and he was for DK as well and wow, he had some really ugly information I won't bother to repeat on Dr. Dean! YIKES!!!!!

However, not to forget, we have MORE than our share of rednecks and right-wingers around here ... far too many. :(

It is DK or bust for me. Maybe I'll catch you when you pass through next year if I am still here! :D

12. lots of old folks here too
Many retirees have come here from down south and they are very conservative (they come here to live cheap in their retirement but they have plenty of $). It is impossible to communicate with them so I don't bother.

Sad really.

I could do without all of these loggers and crap to be honest with you. It was a major adjustment moving here from SF!

10. Heh
I used to live in Roanoke. My son still lives there with his mother.

Glad to know there are some active progressives out there. I appreciate you guys fighting the good fight - and when you help change the state for the better, my son will (eventually) thank you, I believe. :)

14. We met!!
In northwest no less!! We met in Pensacola, and like our VA counterparts, there was a handful(just a bit more than that actually). Nonetheless, there was a lot of energy and tons of ideas flying around the room. We're ready to roll!

if people vote their conscience (health care for all, end of war on drugs, no NAFTA) Dennis is shoe-in.
