How much does Laura Bush know? What do YOU think? |
|
about the election and just about what shrubco is doing to the world. Other than being stepford, she seems ok to me. But how much about her sweet hubby and his cohorts do you think she knows about? Do you think she knows little and truly believes her hubby is doing a wonderful job, or do you think she likes the power trip too and goes along with the bullshit? Seems like she would get a constant feed of the "good works" of this admin from the shrub family, but do they have her fooled? What do you think?

It's none of our damn business. She's a wife. Let's leave her alone. She is not reponsible for the actions of her husband's family.

6. what do you mean it is "None of our business"? |
|
Laura Bush is responsible for HER actions and Her lack of actions, just like any other human being among us....why would she be exempt from responsibility and scrutiny?
I don't trash Laura Bush, or hold her responsible for the actions of her husband or his family, but i do hold her responsible for sleeping with and keeping the company of war criminals, thugs and murderers...
I hold myself, all of us responsible for W's atrocities, since we have allowed him to steal 1 election (possibly 2) and going to a war based on lies causing the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent US soldiers, Iraqi soldiers and Iraqi civilians.
We are all responsible for what we do and the company we keep....period...in the eyes of God and in a court of law.
No one is exempt....

17. I dunno 'bout that?! A spouse generally knows the strengths & ... |
|
vulnerabilities of their significant others. She, I'm sure, is as aware as anyone of his methods of operation. She cannot be exempt from a critical eye if she is a willing enabler & cheerleader (by speaking on his campaigns, that - IMHO - makes her both). I've never known any spouse that wasn't aware when their S.O. did wrong, turning a blind eye doesn't make her any less culpable for the actions of her husband than does someone who claims it isn't their problem to speak out against a child abuser (i.e. - I saw the bruises but he never hit them in front of me, so it wasn't my place to turn him in!). This is a well educated woman, she's not ignorant. She fell for this being, with all his flaws. No one can claim, after that many years of marriage, that she wasn't aware of his dark side or weaknesses. That she still blows the trumpet for him doesn't show me a loyal wife. It speaks of a willing accomplice. She has blown this horn through years of Texas death sentences (i.e. the mentally retarded man that he wouldn't commute sentence for) on to the Iraq war, & still positively glows when speaking for him. She may not have the power to stop him, she does have the power to NOT be his champion. She has the ability to walk away & speak out, she chooses to stay. I would not judge a politician's child, his wife is an adult. The title WIFE is not a shield that exempts her from having to stand & face the judgment of the public after she laid out her opinions & exhortations to vote for *ush.
Sorry, no pass from me.
I try to affect change or protest when I see wrong, I expect the same from public figures (& she is just that). Could you see Theresa or Elizabeth not speaking up if they felt a moral compunction? Not likely!

25. This is interesting. Female Bushco supporter that I know |
|
love Pickles because she's a "stand by her man type of woman." They dislike Theresa and Elizabeth because they are just "too out there, too many opinions." (Too strong?)
On the other hand, they dislike Hillary because she "stood by her man."
Women who support Bush have me totally baffled.

who fell in love with this loser. she might have thought she could "help" him or he would change or just hitching to the wealthy.but reality set in and she became resigned to her position as a baby sitter,a abused wife, and a mother with no support from her husband. life turned out to be alot different than she hoped. from what i have read about her before she was married and early into the marriage she was a happy out going lady that enjoyed life alot more than she does now. she`s resigned to the fact that this is her lot in life and she has to make the best of it. she has millions of dollars in her bank accounts to wash away her loneliness..in a way i feel sorry for her and in another way she has enabled him to destroy the world. but thru it all i will always make fun of the way she dresses......

And is quite the chain-puffer. Always out of camera range though. They say she was smoking quite a bit during the convention and the debates but of course, the so-called 'liberal' media allowed her to do it in private. Imagine if Teresa took so much as one drag near any camera....

4. Like Carmela Soprano....she officially knows nothing. |
|
What she does know, I'm sure she rationalizes it away. Like the stolen election, she probably thinks that if George didn't steal the election, Al Gore would have.
People close to criminals have a way of just rationalizing it all away. If not, that's what pharmaceuticals are for.

I think it's wrong to trash her on that. Hold her accountable for something you've witnessed her doing in the past years as a Governors wife and First Lady .. but lay off the pot shots.

She might have a few opinions of her own, but they are hers---and his opinions are the ones she would ultimately go by. And she looks like she stepped out of an early 60's magazine--too perfect, and very brittle.

If the rethugs hadn't been so hateful to Hillary, Tipper, Teresa and all the other Democratic wives I would allow myself to feel sorry for Laura but I will follow their lead and save my sympathy for those in my own party.

I've always thought that he has even less of a role in running things then we're led to believe. I think it's a lot more Cheney, Rummi , Wolf, and his murderous NWO NAC dogs. Condi spends all her time coaching him on how to pronounce Abu Ghraib in a cowboy slang.

their parents. When they are adults (as these 2 are, now) that's different. ButI haven't heard much in the way of stumping from them, just 'I love my daddy - so vote for him' stuff. When they start stating actual opinions, then they are fair game. Mommy is different, she's well aware of the evil in her bed. I do think you have a point on who's running the store, though. Lots of blame, lots of shopkeepers to shoulder it.
