I am already SICK of this fake Republican WH vs. the Hill crap
Congress and specifically the House has been a rubberstamp since the 2002 midterms. Even when our former fearful leaders Gephardt and Daschle did put up a fight it was only for show. The Republicans aren't fooling me-this is pure BS and cover for sliding the original legislation through after supposedly warding off extreme changes that had been proposed.

Novak is leading the charge by making the assinine claim that W is a lameduck before he even takes his second oath (not that the first seemed to take) which was cited by the ever whorish Russert yesterday. PLEASE! this is all soap opera crap. They all take their marching orders together, Sensenbrenner and Hunter (dumbest man on the Hill) are just engaging in a show to cover up the Repubs full out assault on the New Deal, the Dems, and the Constitution. They will appear to have differences and in the end it will all work out (for them) as they planned it.

1. You're absolutely right. If they've been buying elections since 2000
it means that everything they've done since then has been against our will and choice. They're worse than the mob.

2. By what stretch of the imagination
Could this government be considered "lame duck"? What are the arguments?
They had a majority of the house and senate, the judiciary and full-out white-knuckled stranglehold of the executive. What changed?

3. Nothing Novak is just their front man for this fake conflict
Though it is painfully obvious they don't what the masses to see how coordinated and lockstepped they are so they create fake controversies. Nothing changed and W himself has been declaring his "mandate".

5. Yes.
By planting the seed that Bush only really has two years to do damage, it makes people compliant. Hey, two years is manageable, they're thinking. But in two years, Bush can change the entire Supreme court's direction and the Republican legisture can gerrymander this country so that nobody can follow their illegal activities. They will, in essence, become the CIA.

12. Simple - there's nothing else for him to talk/write about

There is no real conflict on the Hill any more. And when that's the case, you do what modern "journalists" do - you just make some shit up.

14. There was an article aobut how RW radio could be in trouble
about a month ago-there was an article (?) about what will RW radio do now? What do they have to be upset about? Who can they be mad at?

All of this overlooks the fact that RW believers will listen to gloating as much as they will anger.

4. It all reminds me of the struggles Hitler and Stalin had getting
getting their legislation passed. It's hard being the leader of a one-party nation.

6. OMG - those underpants moving across the screen while I read!!
It's a horrible vertigo feeling in my brain when I try to read your posts. I agree with you that anything and everything from the WH, congress and the whore media is suspect and mostly crap (I am able to read the post when responding because the sig doesn't show up).

7. The only way a Republican will win in 2008 will be to run against W, so...
...they are going to pretend that the congress doesn't always agree with the WH so that the party doesn't get pulled down by the misery Bush will cause to America.

8. If Bush* REALLY wanted the 9/11 bill he would have it.
I think this is total bullshit on his behalf. He could call Hastert to the WH and chew his ass out. Bush* does not want reform.

9. I was under the impression that the whole thing was a soap opera
The whole process at this points seems to be a cover for a unified agenda that looks a lot like the PNAC plan.

11. Just think of it as pro wrestling
You know, all the interviews where the Dismantler vows eternal revenge against Skullcrusher, and the Pretty Boys will take back the championship belts that are rightfully theirs from the Ugly Boys. In this scenario, Robert Novak becomes a "manager," one of those overweight, out-of-shape misanthropes who patrols the outside of the ring for his wrestler, always ready to administer the low blow or the kick to the head of someone who's been tossed out of the ring. And, just like a manager, Novak runs like a rabbit at the first sign of personal danger.

Afterwards, away from the cameras, they all light up in the locker room and have a good laugh at the rubes' gullibility.
