4. Don't know but...
I was looking at the portable XM player and decided to wait until a newer version comes out. It's just too expensive for very basic functionality. I'm hoping that Sirius comes out with one by then as they will have Stern, AA and the NFL ticket.

16. I just got Sirius and I love it
They do have a boom box for the Orbiter here is a link to one at Radio Shack

http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1&catalog_name=CTLG&category_name=&product_id=12-2065

I really like the programming, the jam band station is great the bluegrass station is sweet and folktown is pretty cool too. Plus great blues and jazz.

I think both XM and Sirius are very competitive. I just choose Sirius, because they had an incredible deal over the Thanksgiving holiday. I ended up with $50 in rebates and a free $$50 home docking station for the orbiter.

3. not sure...
but content seems to be non-aligned, at least on the music stations I listen to. Plus the American Left station is very well-done.

6. As for Sirius,
I seem to recall having read an article, possibly in last week's TIME, where the president of Sirius was painted as a Bush fan (having a Bush-Cheney poster), etc.

9. HOLD ON! Although the top guy at Sirius donated to the..
Rethuglican party...he just brought in Howard Stern's buddy as CEO, who, according to my research, donates fairly significantly to the Democrats. Both he and Howard were pro-Kerry. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but those were the results of my research.

Secondly, I defy anyone to find more progressive programming on XM than on Sirius. There are two channels devoted full-time (24/7) to progressive programming: #143 (Hartmann, Young Turks, Schultz) and #144 (Air America). And, in my humble opinion, the hosts have consistently spoken in a very uninhibited manner. Clearly, the top guy cannot be against 1st Amendment rights - or a pawn for the Boooosh administration.

Thirdly, yes, there is a cradle for Sirius, and I have found out that they are about to come out with a new one.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

10. I don't think Howard Stern
would ally himself with a company that was a Bush supporter. Also they run AA completely I believe and XM chops it up.

I also saw a portable Sirius that you can "charge" for 3 hours in the Best Buy flyer on Sunday.

17. XM-DirectTV-CC-Murdoch. This is the link.
Check it out. I canceled my DirecTV after my subscription runs out. I am looking to buy Sirius portable. I noticed that Sirius stock has doubled in the last few months so they must be on to something that the public likes.
