We just keep feeding this bear and the bear keeps getting bigger and bigger.

1. How does not shopping help the troops?
How does slowing our economy, putting businesses out of business help anyone?

2. I would think it would make things worse
Bread and circuses, after all. The Rethugs would need more of a distraction that way.

4. It undermines the war
Less economy less revenue for the Treasury, less money to finance war.
Makes good sense to me. I don't know if it will work or not but I have stooped spending except for necessary items, and then I spend at local businesses.
Luckily for me that we have a locally owned grocery store.

9. Our economy?
It's their economy...we just feed it for them.
Then the economy feeds the Pentagon.

5. The troops should stop fighting.
It's time for the troops to realize they have been bamboozled. They are killing and being killed for a bogus war.

Support the country by spending less time shopping and more time getting our democracy back. If we get our democracy back, the US will spend less time bullying other nations, and more time supporting its own citizens.

6. I'm patronizing only local small businesses
My biggest buy since Thanksgiving: a bunch of paperbacks from a local secondhand bookstore.

8. For a lot of Americans I'm sure that won't be a problem,
not spending this holiday season. Not broke yet, but still not shopping, tho' I never really do that much holiday shopping anyway.
