"So This is Christmas, And What Have You Done "
At the prison where Martha Stewart recently checked in resides Carol Gilbert, a Dominican nun who is serving thirty-three months for beating on a nuclear missile silo in Colorado. Gilbert is a Christian. These people driving past my house this morning on their way to church are ants to a picnic, with roughly the same amount of knowledge about who they are and where they are headed. Thinking the feast is meant for them, when they are only pests.
<snip>

If you are going to be a Christian, it will cost you. That's what happened to Jesus on the cross. He fought the government; he opposed the church. He got right in their face and he said you guys really, really suck. He said don't kill, give your riches to the poor, so they stripped him of his clothes and killed him.

Just in case things like that are important to us, that's also what we will need to do.

It's Christmas in prison, there'll be music tonight.
I'll prob'ly get homesick, I love you, good night.

-----------------------------------------------

I was reading a little of Howard Zinn's history and a little Lakoff. Both were talking abut Christians and the power mindset. The great masses of Christians over the years have been used. Christianity sets up the power structure and makes people feel good about taking over other countries and converting them to the power structure.

"Peace on Earth - Good Will Toward Men" sounds like a sick joke as our "Judeo-Christian" country does exactly the opposite - murdering, torturing and trying to get everyone to fall in line and go along - while the rich get richer, and everyone gets poorer.

Excuse me as I get psyched up to design another Christmas card.

1. Jesus wouldn't recognise
the church or it's teachings. They took a growing religious shift and altered it into something that would support their own paradigm.

2. Great song.
It's the music that makes it.

Happy Christmas (War Is Over)
John Lennon and Yoko Ono

And so this is Christmas and what have you done
Another year over; a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one, the old and the young
A Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear

So this is Christmas, for weak and for strong
The rich and the poor one, the road is so long
So Happy Christmas for black and for white
The yellow and red one, and stop all the fight
A Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear

Without any fear? John Lennon cannot believe what he's seeing on Earth.
