4. Support our troops!
Funny how the people who shout "support our troops" loudest are the ones who want to put all the blame on the troops in the pictures and ignore the chain of command that leads up to the white house.

10. Not Torture...
You all are assuming that these photos are torture...but in reality you have no clue because you don't have all the information...it's all easy to be an arm chair quarterback and say that they are torturing the poor muslims...How bout maybe they are doing their JOB!!! The one which looks like the bad guy is being stepped on could be the soldier is sitting on something and his foot is hanging over the prisoner...you don't know...the one with the guy aimed at the prisoner's face could be the SEAL using his light on the weapon to shine it on the face of the bad guy for identification...

You really need to think it out and get all the information before you start calling these brave soldiers torturers...they are out there sacrificing their lives...what are you doing?

And noticce the gentle treatment this prisoner gets, while his throat is being grasped:

31. I'm gonna get flamed for this, but based on JUST those photos
I'd have to agree with ReaderHog.

With absolutely no context to base anything on, I cannot say that those show any torture or anything other than a bunch of Marines round up some prisoners. We have no idea how the one guy was wounded (with the blood on the fridge), he could be bleeding from just about anything (like struggling when they captured him or trying to escape).

Sorry, but until I see other photos, I have to agree with Mr. Hog

35. how do you know he wasn't already bleeding
and then had his head pressed against the fridge, leaving blood?

Unless I'm missing something.

Without knowing the context of any of this, i.e. what the prisoners were doing BEFORE they were caught, I can't judge these guys for what i see here.

These guys MAY have been trying to kill them, in which case they're lucky they're not dead.

I'm saying I DON"T KNOW based on the photos. I don't know shit. If I see other photos, I'll judge based on that.

According to our new attorney general, and Donald Rumsfeld, it's their job to torture.

So you are exactly right!

36. err...what are YOU doing?
oh, that's right..sitting on your chickenhawk butt. typing on a computer.

Look: here's how it works (get ready cause I'm gonna use logic, probably a foreign language for you)

If you DON"T approve of the war, then you don't WANT to be there fighting a illegal war. If you're a pacifist, like myself, you'd be a concientious objector.

However, if you're a chickenhawk like yourself, and If you DO approve of the war, then you SHOULD be putting your ass where your attitudes lie and you should be risking your life.

got it?

I know, I know, it requires the ability to understand logic.

17. "Why do they hate us?"
We destroy their cities, murder and torture their people, ridicule and profane their religion, reduce them to "camel-jockeys" "ragheads" and "sand niggers", foist a quisling government on them, steal their oil, destroy their culture, and debase them in every way imaginable.

Oh, yeah, they hate us for our freedom.

18. only slightly off topic, but did you know torture is only a sideline
for Titan? They're main business is computer IT stuff:

Under the DIESCON 3 contract, the Defense Intelligence Agency and other intelligence agencies can buy IT products and services, including planning, database management, systems and network engineering, hardware and software integration, application development, deployment, operation, and management, client-server and web-enabled applications, local and wide area networks, election fraud, and other general IT capabilities worldwide.

Okay, I made that one part up, maybe.

20. CACI too

CACI said it is the subject of five separate government probes. The U.S. General Services Administration has asked the company to provide information to aid in determining whether it should remain eligible for government contracts, CACI said in a conference call with analysts and investors.

"It's alarming," said Tim Quillin, an analyst with investment firm Stephens Inc.

He said it is extremely rare for a company to lose government contracts entirely, but the possibility makes investors nervous.

CACI was one of two U.S. contractors named in a U.S. Army report that detailed the abuse of inmates held in the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad. The other contractor was Titan Corp.

In the period August-December last year, CACI was awarded 11 "task orders," or contracts, worth about $66 million for work in Iraq, the company said in the conference call.

So far, the company, which also provides information technology services to government clients, has billed $16.3 million under those contracts. Through April, it had collected $7.1 million.

Asked if CACI might have difficulty collecting the rest of the money due for its work, the company said its customers have said the work done so far has been "very satisfactory" and clients "continue to request our services."

A CACI representative said companies are barred from government contracts "only under the most egregious situations" where impropriety is condoned by corporate leadership.

"That is not the way this company operates,"
the representative said.

22. It does seem odd that torture and IT work would go hand in hand
This links to a press release about Titan re: contracting with the army "Department of the Army Information Management Support Center (IMCEN)" for desktop support, providing IT services to contractors. They say they have a 15 year relationship with IMCEN.

They name some of the large and small companies they'll be using in their IT work:

The Titan team includes AlphaInsight, CYIOS, Netcentics, Lockheed Martin Information Technology, NCI, CACI, Hewlett Packard, Remedy, TEKSystems, PSS, TSM, and Norbeck.

http://www.titan.com/investor/press-releases/press_releases_print.html?id=8

They also have press releases about the Lockheed Martin acquistion/merger/whatever being called off because of a "SEC investigation regarding certain payments to foreign countries." Sorry, no linky, but available from Titan's press releases.

28. Very very interesting. Thanks for the info.
Could some of these be CIA fronts? It seems very suspiciously incestuous. Unless torture now falls under "information" technology and multitasking has been given a whole new meaning.

19. more..
"How do Muslims and Arabs see those wars?

They see photographs of naked Iraqis piled on top of each other, terrified Iraqis cringing in the face of snarling dogs, leashed Iraqis on all fours being led like dogs.

They see, most recently, a bloodied Iraqi with a gun held to his head by a U.S. Navy SEAL, and another Iraqi with a SEAL’s boot planted firmly on his chest.

They hear about a report written by Alberto Gonzales that makes excuses for the use of torture in America’s "war on terror."

They hear about 550 men locked up in the U.S. prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, many of whom have been tortured, some of whom will face kangaroo courts designed by Gonzales.

Then they hear Bush has nominated Gonzales to be America’s chief law enforcement officer.

They see a videotape of a U.S. Marine shooting an unarmed, wounded Iraqi in a mosque.

They see images of scores of dead Iraqis splayed on the ground in Fallujah.

They see Iraqi children whose limbs have been blown off by American bombs."

"I feel hatred. I hurt," said Ismail Ibrahim, one of 200 displaced Fallujans living in a Baghdad school since the latest fighting drove them out. "This is my city and it has been destroyed." Ibrahim warned, "The people of Fallujah are people of revenge. If they don’t get their revenge now, they will next year or even after 50 years.

Those who know the truth and see the truth, see what the US Soldiers are doing is wrong to any human. The ones who dont see it as torture, are the same ones who if they see someone getting mugged or raped on the streets they will just drive on and not stop to help.
