1-2-7-3...
This is what I woke up to this morning at 5AM...the death toll in Iraq. Before the newscast ended and before I went to work, it was 1274.

1-2-7-5....1-2-7-6....

When the fuck will this lunacy end???? I'm sickened. Bush, Condi, Cheney and Rumsfeld as well as Powell---may they all burn in hell.

1. 1-0-1-0-7-5
101,075 deaths might be where the Iraqi's count starts today.

This war is hideous and shameful. I go on about my daily life, but the senseless heartbreak we have caused bothers me tremendously. I live to see my children blossom, and I know every single Iraqi parent feels the same. We are destroying a nation for our lust for power. I want no part of it.

What is the proper response to this horror?

2. I have no idea what the proper response is...I'm saddened that we keep

(and I don't mean DUers) ignoring this massacre. I know that we are helpless but at some point people have to take to the streets--not for the election but to stop the war. I protested for the first time last year on the anniversary of the war. We must speak out. Three times more people have died than when that liar in the White House declared major combat operations had ended.

4. sign up to be on your local draft board
That was the proper response for me. I can't cure all the evils of the world, but I can at least hope to mitigate the damage a bit on the home front by sending lots of chickenhawks to Iraq so they can be happy dying for what they believe in. I'm certainly not going to oil the jaws of the corporate war machine with my kids blood.

If you are worried that its not right to send other kids when you won't send your own kids, consider the fact that many draft boards are going to be overflowing with repuke "volunteers" looking to save their own by sending dems.

6. That is one of the best repoonses I have ever come across!
Great idea. We need to get this out! Hope you don't mind if I start a thread, and will wait a bit. But what a fantastic idea. I had a high lottery number in 72, but draft boards had tremendous influence (ask W).

7. thank you
I don't mind a bit if you spread the word! Sending a chickenhawk to Iraq is not just poetic justice, its your duty as an American! Nothing takes the wind out of a war-mongers sails faster than them finding out its actually their kid that gets to come home in a box.

our dictator on cspan giving a pep talk to marines. i've been sick all day....those numbers mean nothing to him. he was talking up the charities that help the families get by while loved ones are on active duty

back to active duty under that stop-loss order BS. Shame on this country.
