HOPE in a parking lot....
I live in the "RED" state of Tennesse, although it's a very Blue part of Mid-TN. Personally, I'm not giving up until the VOTE FRAUD issue is resolved. So, I still have my "Kerry/Edwards", "No W", and "Defoliate Bush" bumper stickers on my car, and I REFUSE to take them off! Well, coming out of the local Kroger's grocery store tonight I saw a strange woman putting a note under my wind-shield wipers.
My first thought was "oh, shit, she hit my car". But, since she was thoughtful enough to leave a note, I cheerily said "Hello!"
She turned around and said,"I love your bumper stickers, and I was leaving you a note, let me read it to you: 'Bush is not MY President'!"
Of course, that started a very LIVELY conversation! During the course of which I asked if she had been to DU. She replied "Are you kidding?!? How could I survive without the weekly Top 10 Conservative Idiots!?!"
As we parted, she thanked me for keeping my bumper stickers on, she said it made her night beacuse it helped KEEP HOPE ALIVE!
So, PLEASE don't give up on us down here in the Red "JesusLand" states! Nashville may be the home to the Southern Baptist Convention, but we also vote Democratic as well as many other portions of the State. Don't give up on us! Don't give up on Our Cause! NEVER GIVE UP!

1. Thanks!! I needed to hear this.
It gets depressing seeing a 'sea of red' and thinking that so many states voted for bush. Everytime I hear a story like yours, I can picture the whole scene, and know never to give up hope on the pockets of sanity in jesusland.

You made my day!!! :)

2. don't worry, us coast state fancy pants eletists have your backs
Why not join DFA or 21st century democrats? DFA supports candidates in red states because we believe we can win in red states with a populist message.
Then you all can start raising money and arranging mass housing for the 2006 elections and we will come help you take back your state by helping elect democrats for state and federal office. We'll start with your state house and senate. If you get something started we will be there.

4. Thanks! haven't heard of DFA or 21st Century Dems...
But TN could and SHOULD be a "blue" State. We have a Dem Governor who is the most popular Gov in TN history, and this is the first year that Repugs gained a majority in the State Senate. A lot of folks gave up on TN just because "well, if Al Gore couldn't win his home state they must be Repug", but I'm telling you the only reason Al lost here is is because he took us for granted and didn't campaign here! And if he took TN, he would have won!

I honestly believe that TN is the "wedge" State. The Dems can easily win back TN (we've already seen Repug Fraud from Gov Don Sundquist, and his fraud schemes are still making news!), and after that I can see Sunshine spreading down slowly but surely across the rest of the South.

The Music Row Democrats have started some momentum, maybe if theY combine with with your suggestions they can start it snowballing!

Thanks! NEVER GIVE UP!
