Goldwater did just that. We will need to do that to regain our credibility with our base.Once we do that, we will be able to attract the moderate people who will see that we stand for being fair to those left behind by the Republican's predatory policies and that is what it will take to win.

Stop being afraid of the newsmedia shills, the charlatans and the DINO's scare mongering.

"Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose"

We won't win until prominent dems show some spine. Down with the DLC, Howard Dean for DNC Chair.

6. "The Day the Earth Stood Still".....................
I believe Klatu was the giant, earth destroying capable robot. The man who controlled him had a line "Klatu, verada nicto", addressed to the robot to avert the destruction of the Earth.
Quite possibly, I'm wrong. It's been a long time since I've seen that movie. I remember liking it as a child though, Sci-Fi was just coming into it's own as a genre at that time.

9. Actually...
...the giant robot was Gort. Klatu was the man who controlles him. "Klatu berrado nikto" was the signal for, if things went bad, Gort to do what he had to to rescue Klatu and get him the hell out of there.

magic words you needed to say to stop the robot from destroying the world. It is a famous scene from the movie The Day The Earth Stood Still. The girl at the end who originally knew these three words forgot and tries to remember them and .... voila, flash! at the end just at the last minute those words come to her and the earth was saved!

I have never forgotten those words since my childhood days and here they are!

4. And please remember
unless some naive newbie goes off on an unprofessional tangent for a single cause or idea that the electorate sees as a sign of goofiness- our principles and agenda are darned positive and attractive across a broad spectrum of government as service, civil rights, democracy and compassion. The other side has to fake it with old con games that should be faced down and laughed off to oblivion.

Smart politics is NOT showing non-leadship cowardice or evasion, spite or fear or sterile competency credentials.

We have only to be sincere and not naive because our values are genuinely better and can cut through the coded and memed crap as if they don't exist- so long as we are not afraid and not constantly on the defensive against palpable lies.

8. Play To Win! Don't Play "Not To Lose"
The former is a strategy for success. The latter is a strategy to lose. It's really that simple.
