25. Howard Zinn and Gore Vidal have some good books

"Perpetual War" by Gore Vidal and "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn would have some fairly good counter examples of how certain US interest have leveraged the military to keep foreign brown people and working people in the US in line.

Zinn's work is mostly domestic policy and Vidal's work is almost exclusively about war. I don't have an especially good reference for examples of the West crapping on the Middle East but there are pleanty of "white people do horrible things too" examples.

I'll also echo the vote for serial killers and recommend religious fanatics Jonestown (posion koolaid), Branch Davidians (Waco), et. al.
