Wouldn't it be great if the military turned on these neo-con...
murdering Fascist thugs? Who does this blood-sucking fuckwad Rumsfeld think he is? This vulture who touts himself as Secretary of Defense never spent day one in the military yet he dictates to the military! Something gravely wrong with this picture!

1. long ago I speculated on this
on DU methinks. I pictured a future where Bush stole the election for the 2nd term and the military turned on him.

Why wouldn't they? He's destroying them.

4. the military has been trained to "group think" and unless they learn to
use independent thinking, they will go along with the gripo bush has exerted on them and us.
.. so far those who are thinking independently are fleeing to canada, or are refusing to go back toiraq and are being court martialed (is that the right word?) for being awol.

7. The Tillman Situation
The Tillman incident shows the lack of independent thinking, and initiative isn't something that the military teaches anymore, and
it's a trait that this administration has no use for.

9. I disagree. Generals have big egos and think for themselves
for instance.

Generals are the ones who are gonna have a problem with Bush's self-destructive run-it-into-the-ground foreign policy.

In other countries, generals are often the people who lead coups.

3. Every great revolution in history
hinged on the military dropping its support for its current leaders and siding with the people.

5. Truth Be Told
Rumsfeld did serve on active duty in the US Navy, if I remember correctly it was either prior to or after the Korean War, not really sure about the time period.
