Urgent, concise, articulate.

The way a Dem who actually meant to win would speak. (hint hint)

Michael Moore was right when he said the Repubs told a better story meaning how you say things determines whether anyone notices and agrees and acts on what you say.

Nees, of Common Cause:

"We should be the model of democracy, not the model of hypocrisy."

Both Jesse Jackson and Cong. Sheila Jackson Lee already demanded a forensic examination of voting machines!

Cobbs was wonderful,

Arnebeck:
Election must be fixed before this election is finalized
People can not expect a fraudulent election for these United States.
We will not move on until we find out what the fraud was and correct it.
Conspiracy against Black Americans!

Jackson Lee referred to Iraq, how can we with a straight face go to Iraq when we have a corrupt election in our own country.
It must be cleaned up now.

Blackwell was roundly denounced... it was music to my ears: finally, hearing people telling it like it is!!

I didn't know that cops were giving parking tickets to those who had parked too long. Why had they parked so long? They were trying to vote. Some of them waited five-six-seven hours. That's inexcusable.

How much lower can these repugs go??

26. PRIVATIZATION
I was thinking about all this privatization and global corporations. . . it's a way around the American concept. It's a way for the "ruling class" to gain control, despite our so called, "democracy." We thought we were a nation "of the people, for the people, and by the people." And though America never really lived up to that ideal, we believed we were moving in that direction. Now we see how democracy has been hijacked. Our founding "fathers" (and "mothers"), knowing that they were of the ruling class, decided to set up our constitution for this nation to move beyond being ruled by those with money. I don't know if we ever accomplished that, but we believed we were going in that direction.

It's heartening to listen to this forum. Democracy will not give in without speaking up. Where is our candidate? Next time (if we are so lucky) I want someone who speaks for me; who calls the liars on their lies; who isn't afraid to speak up for peace, dialog, and communication "diplomacy" with the other nations of the world. I want someone who isn't in the pocket of the ruling money of the world. I want someone who knows the difference between democracy and "free" market capitalism. I want someone who underrstands that universal, single payer (government) health insurance should not be tied to one's place of employment, which puts undue burdon on small business employers and employees.

I want a candidate who understands that accurate and accountable voting is the basis of democracy.

Thank you. Thank you, Thank you.

42. Basically, all true Americans want real "democracy", too.
THANK YOU for your well-spoken post.

I would add that, in addition to ensuring the value of every vote (which would be the equivalent to valuing every American), we must also DEMAND transparency and accountability, and that the highest ethical standards and all common laws be applied equally and as forcibly to those who "represent" us,...as they do to our citizens.

NO ONE should ever be allowed the luxury of being above the law.

30. Common Cause announces a lawsuit in Ohio
Tuned in late so I didn't get all the details, but Cliff Arnebeck of CC says the organization is filing (today?) a lawsuit in Ohio apparently against the state for equal protection violation in the 11/04 vote. They will base their case partly on the SCOTUS Bush v Gore 2000 "decision" which was based largely on the equal protection provisions under the constitution.

32. Questioner who claimed to read from US Constitution was bogus
A questioner stood up and made an impassioned appeal as to why we weren't pursuing the constitutional remedy for situations when peoples right to vote are abridged.

He claimed to be reading from "The Owner's Manual" (a term often used by the right for the Constitution).

I could find no such language in the document or any of its ammendments.

Am I missing something? Anybody have a better sense of what he was talking about?
