I'm good enough, I'm smart enough,
...and GOSH DARN IT, people like me!

I saw Al Franken (former Saturday Night Live writer) at a book signing last night. He was hilarious. He was only going to talk for a half hour, but went on for nearly an hour. I got him to sign his book, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right".

It's well researched and funny. MSNBC just posted an article on him today, and here's the link: http://www.msnbc.com/news/960497.asp?0ql=c9p

Also at Borders last night was the "Chicken Legs" lady!! In a different Borders, a woman played guitar in the store and commented that Bush had 'chicken legs'. Since she's a runner and a health nut, she thought Bush's legs looked scrawny (they do!). Well, someone got offended thinking she called Bush a chicken.

So naturally she was banned from performing at Borders ever again.

I wish I could have stayed to see her meet with Al Franken, in a Borders no less. I just talked with her and looked at her scrapbook of news clippings on her getting banned.

Was anyone else at the Bailey's Crossroads Borders last night that saw the chicken legs lady? She was pretty cool.

1. Shrubbie being called a "chicken"?
NO, how dare she do such a thing to our Great Fearless Fuhrer-uh, leader! Why, he's the bravest man since, since,........uh, never mind!

I know that some Borders Bookstores are run by wingnuts, but I'm lucky that the one near me isn't. Yesterday, they had Al Franken's book prominently displayed in the front of the store, a whole table of them. It was impossible to miss, and I saw many people looking through the book.

3. You need tickets?
Is that a regular appearance, or a book signing?

I really liked what he had to say, even though I've heard a couple parts of his speech before. It was like seeing him perform his 'greatest hits' or something.
