Idea for a new bumper sticker
I have an idea for a bumper sticker:

"Better Dead than Red"
Vote Democrat

Do you like it? Any ideas on where I could have it printed up?

I got two new ones today:

"Dear Red States: We Do Think That You Are Ignorant Rednecks"

and

"Proud Member of the Reality Based Community"

Which one should I use??

5. You would place a bumper sticker on your motor vehicle that
says you would rather be dead than be a "red stater?" And then you mention the Democratic Party? Uuuummmm, I'd venture to guess that the Democratic Party wants NOTHING to do w/ your insults.

6. lighten up
It's a play on the old Cold War slogan. Don't take it so seriously.
I live in a red state--Florida--so obviously I wouldn't prefer to be dead. It's meant to be humorous.

7. Lighten up is right.
Geesh -- people can fly off the handle over the smallest things on these boards sometimes. I got what you were saying from your first post, and the fact that it's already been done means it's not that crazy of an idea. I'm not sure what that other poster was so up in arms about!

8. I need not "lighten up" as you suggest; however, I accept your
explanation. In the future it would be better if you explained your jest, humor to your audience, us here in DU. Don't blame us. You are the person who wrote the post.

10. Most political bumperstickers and even nonpolitical
are partly in jest.

I have a "God, please save me from your followers" sticker. There is obviously humor in that, along with the seriousness. I don't see anything offensive in the OP and I'm from a red state myself.

The Republicans never worry about offending those who might accidentally take their stickers the wrong way. Why do we??? My view on my own stickers is: If you don't have a sense of humor or if you can't stand another viewpoint it's your loss.
