How to put out the fire in "Flamebait"! |
|
I used to lurk at another site where "Flamebait" and troll posts were treated as follows:
The baiter or troller makes the explosive/controversial post and then that thread is quickly hi-jacked by several post(er)s about favorite recipes for chili, best color to wear on a sunny day, hammiest actor on the planet, or any number of other blase subjects.
The point being, that instead of feeding the troll by giving it the disruptive attention he/she seeks, we feed it lots of good vibes and happy feelings. And the hi-jacking posters have a good time, too. :-)

without giving the freepers any more "whacked-out, ranting, hate-filled threads on DU" to refer to on FreeRepublic!
A lack of negative response to their flamebait and an abundance of happy talk in the replies will drive those freepers NUTS!
Or should I say NUTTIER?
