How about a sports group ? There are a lot of sports fans here I know. I need 10 people to agree and I will send this to the Ask the Administrators Forum. Would anybody like to see a Sports Forum ?

that would negate the need to start one here? I mean do we really need waste bandwidth on a truly useless topic?
Yes, I know there are some other groups and yes I know that I don't have to read such a forum, but we are moving far afield of DU's purpose and introducing a forum that would generate useless discussions about useless athletes who for some reason are WORSHIPED in our culture despite the fact that they are spoiled, overpaid thugs who make no worthwhile contribution to society.
Some jackass can stuff a ball through a hoop, or smack a ball with a stick, gets paid millions (which generally gets blown on booze, drugs, and sex) while fireman, policeman, EMT's, nurses, teachers, etc get a pittance in comparison for performing vital functions for society.
Folks, if you want to play sports, that's cool. Played them myself and had a good time, but the only thing more inane to me than WATCHING OTHER people play sports, is TALKING to other people about WATCHING OTHER people play sports.
Sheesh.
