Are NPR and PBS really in danger?
Or is the following just another one of those things that goes around the 'Net?

The Supreme Court? What have they got to do with the budget? makes me wonder...

1. www.snopes.com
It's about legislation that happened in 1998. False alarm.

2. They are in danger: of going completely RW on us.
Too much corporate money involved in PBS these days. I haven't heard word one about the Cnyers congressional forum. That's a big flashing warning system to me that they've drunk the koolaid.

5. Yes. But not from that dumb chain letter
That email chain letter has been circulating since ~2000. Ignore it.

NPR and PBS have taken a sharp turn to the right, pretending to be "fair and balanced".

7. Less "in danger" than Irrelevant.. They have been infiltrated by righties
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 01:31 PM by SoCalDem

so "lefties" don't bother to support them or tune in much. They have been under assault for years by the rightwing congress, and have to beg for every penny and apologize profusely for every perceived "error"..they are teethless kittens, hanging on by their claws.. Just to be "safe", though, the rightwinders have pretty much changed their philosophy..(just in case congress cannot kill them entirely).. The goal is to neutralize them..The plan has succeeded.:(
