99X--Metro Atlanta Area (Radio)
Did anyone catch this show?

Here is a quick re-cap:

1) Have a lawyer on the show discussing how men can prevent women from claiming "Date Rape" at the end. However, instead of having a rational discussion, the (4 males) concluded that men are "screwed" and that all women are out to accuse them of rape.

2) Spends an hour and 15 minutes on a "bit:" they find a "nerdy" guy and dress him up, then they set him up on a date with a "hottie" (who, by the way, the DJ informs us is a fan of Faux News, the woman was on the telephone and apparently all she does is giggle).

3) Apparently, earlier this week they adopted a dog with serious medical conditions for their "mascot." They did this in with the hope of encouraging others to do the same. Great! Then we find out that no one can take the animal, they don't want to give it to the Humane Society (because the dog would be put down), and there are legal problems with giving the dog to a listener. So, they decide to SELL the dog to a medical research lab.

Oh...it gets better. First, they spend 15 minutes shouting how "noble" they are for doing this. Any caller that calls and tries to discuss the issue with them, gets the Bill O'Reilley treatment "SHUT UP." Then, they proudly proclaim that they are giving 30% of the "proceeds" to the (hold your breath) PROMISE-KEEPERS. Apparently, they are keeping the remaining money for themselves, although one of these guys say that he is going to give his "cut" to a homeless guy.

...So, how was your morning? :-/

2. I usually never listen to morning radio...
...my satellite was out so I couldn't watch my regular news shows.

I just couldn't believe how much morning radio has lost any type of standards.

6. Do you not have an NPR station?
Or better yet one that carries Democracy Now?

Heck, even an Oldies station would be prefereable.

8. This program was a joke.
The regular djs were in New York for the MTV awards or some such rot. The djs you heard are just assholes and the whole thing was supposed to be a joke.

9. No, it wasn't.
They really did do these things. I called the station earlier, and they really did give away the animal to the research lab, and the person I talked to said he was "sick and tired" of hearing about it. Then he told me how "noble" they were (yet again), I hung up.
