So why is the MMM covering the Rummy story? They would never
give it this much coverage unless someone (Rove) wanted them too. They even called a manufacturer of the Humvees and they said they could produce more but were not asked? Since when does the media even make phone calls anymore?

I think someone wants Rummy out and he wont go. Maybe if the gets enough bad press, * will have to let him go? Just a thought.

2. george appeared to be on the military's side
if this IS rovian, they must need a fall guy about the failing war effort. this plus supporting Kofi today after the UN standing ovation.

6. Scapegoat. Blame all war crimes & problems on Rumsfield
in an attempt to save the rest of their asses. :spank:

3. The mainstream media along with Fox
have had Rumsfeld in its sights for a week or two now. It could be Rovian payback for the bad press BushCo got when the pentagon stopped the first 9/11 bill from being passed.

Just Rove reminding Rummy of his place.

5. Some of the neocons are
turning on Rummy.

So he has to endure a little public beating.

That he handles this beating will strengthen his hand as a "loyalist" and a "tough guy".

I don't think that Rummy is going anywhere. -- The unwillingness to deal with the realities of Iraq (etc) stems from the very top.
