Paper to run "note" on reporter who prompted question to Rumsfeld....
The question to Rumsfeld that has (rightly) gotten so much attention about the lack of armor for the troops in Iraq was devised by a reporter who persuaded a solider in his embed unit to ask it. The paper the reporter works for is defending the reporter, but upset that the reporter's e-mail explaining the situation was leaked. Interesting story about it all here:

1. Paper's editor is GOP lackey
"I think he was doing what he felt he was embedded to do: tell the stories of the soldiers of this unit," said Tom Griscom, editor and publisher of the paper.

... Griscom was communications director in the Reagan White House in 1987-1988.

2. Does it matter who phrased the question?
It is out there and ticking people off because during this debacle our soldiers are not being supported!

3. They're just pissed because someone outsmarted them. Dumbasses.
We should all be finding ways to jack them and make them look foolish. Rumsfeld looked like the idiot we all know he is.

4. Perhaps the soldier thought it was normal,
to scrounge in landfills for scrap metal to improvise armor, while the reporter thought it odd.
