1. That's kind of a reach
This guy that is meeting with President Bush wants to bury books. Now one could argue that Bush agreeing to meet with him constitutes tacit support (and I'd agree), but to suggest that it's Bush's plan to bury books isn't the whole story.

The fact that President Bush is meeting with this guy, though, is a disgrace.

7. It is not a reach
As pointed out by another DUer in this thread, Bush has met with this extremist bookhater 5 times, but couldn't find the time to meet with Richard Clarke even once. Bush clearly has his priorities. By such meetings, Bush demonstrates that gaybashing and censorship are priorities for his administration. That's the face he wants to put on the Republican Party. It's what they stand for.

the banned books will be around for future archaeologists to deduce our civilization (i use the term loosely, thanks to Fox) long after we're a smudge on this planet's history.

6. What library's? The republicans have cut funding so drastically
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 05:16 PM by Zinfandel
there are very few open, in many places they are completely closed, no funding. More dumbing down of America.

Ben Franklin must be turning over.
