NPR's Science Friday.
They had a couple of guests on discussing why the NSF budget had been cut.A republican Rep., from Michigan when asked who to write letters to, to complain. He suggested writing T.Delay.Another guest when asked how to change the tone in Washington to be more in favor of science, said all of the scientists he knew were for Kerry, but were to timid to publicy come out for Kerry, feeling they might be chastized. He also said they were preparing for some austere years.

1. Austere, ignorant and envious years
Lack of funding, lack of learning and bitterly watching as other countries take the lead in basic research.
