- Important update for Microsoft Office and VBA -

Madrid, September 5, 2003 - Microsoft has released an update(*) that corrects a vulnerability affecting Microsoft Office users, and users of any application using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). This vulnerability could allow a hacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system.
This problem originated in a buffer overflow in the VBA module that checks the properties of a document when it is opened. This flaw will allow an attacker to create a document -for example, a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint document-, that will execute arbitrary code when opened. New viruses and worms could also exploit this vulnerability in order to spread themselves.
Oxygen3 24h-365d recommends users to visit the Windows Update regularly (
