Poll question: What circle of Hell will Bush be assigned to?
In "The Inferno," Dante devised nine circles in Hell.
The first circle was for unbaptized infants and virtuous pagans like Plato.
Circle Two was for the lustful while Circle Three was for gluttons.
Those prone to avarice went to Circle Four.

The angry and the sullen went to Circle Five.

Circle Six was for heretics while the seventh circle was for murderers, blasphemers, war makers and sodomites.

Circle Eight was for thieves, hypocrites, flatterers, and those who bear falso witness.

The ninth circle, the very bottom pit in Hell, was reserved for traitors. Lucifer dwells here.

So which circle will Bush be assigned to?

1. I chose nine, even though seven, eight and nine all work
Bush is a murderer and a warmaker (7), a thief, hypocrite and liar (8), but most of all, he is a traitor, so he belongs with the big red man himself.

5. As long as he can be seen roasting by the people he's killed
when they look out the windows of heaven then I suppose it doesn't matter.

6. 7 or 9
7 would be funny if he spend eternity with sodomites.

but 9 is the most realistic.

7. He's in Circle 7, according to Sandow Birk's adaptation
See this year's Dante's Inferno illustrated by Sandow Birk, with text adapted by Birk and Marcus Sanders.

http://www.chroniclebooks.com/site/catalog/index.php?main_page=pubs_product_book_info&products_id=4062&store=books

It's a modern street-language rendition of Dante with Hell set in Los Angeles. Birk throws a lot of his contemporaries in among Dante's medieval Italians. At the end of his Canto 12, he has Nessus point out where "the serious tyrants are condemned, / and that's where the punishments get gnarly." Attila the Hun is there, and Charles Manson, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Hitler, "and Reagan and Bush (both of them) with a bunch of others".

12. Yup. That's for "BUSHES in a black, tangled wood."
It's been foreseen - Dante even foresaw the Bushes.

8. "The Inferno" needs updating -- the addition of a tenth circle.

10. To my knowledge, the bible makes reference to only two levels of hell
Sorry Dante. Level one is, apparently, regular old hell and the second level, the "worser one", is a special hell reserved for ministers and such who lead the flock astray. Of course there's purgatory, which is neither heaven or hell, but is rather a catholic explanation for what happens between death and judgment and there are the 12 references to the Greek word "Ge'enna" (transliterated as gehenna or gahanna) which translates in Hebrew as "the Pit." It represents the valley of Hinnom in ancient Jerusalem where garbage (and the corpses of the condemned) were discarded. The consuming fires of ge'enna apparently never went out; thus, the modern belief in a fiery pit (or, perhaps it was just a really good analogy for the true Hell). This "Ge'enna" is where the souls of the wicked are supposedly destroyed utterly in what is dubbed, "the second death" and according to the bible, one should fear (when one is dead) he who has the power to cast souls into Ge'enna. Coincidentally, Ge'enna it is also a county in Ohio (Gahanna County) where George Bush managed to acquire 4,000 votes that weren't his somehow. Apparently Bush has connections in "Hell." Go figure.

"In Gahanna County alone, 4,000 votes were given to George Bush in error."

Regardless of all of this, if there were 9 hells available for choosing, I would think that GW belongs in the 7th (as a war maker)or the 8th (as a total hypocrite). I wouldn't say the 9th because treachery is so hard to prove.
