A modest thought on Kerik, bounced off of Snow:
The John Snow situation, as has been reported, is quite illuminating: seems that the guys from The Street, the ones that they wanted to be "salesmen" for their wacky economic stuff, didn't want anything to do with it. So Mr. Excitement stays. Now Bernie has a "nanny eruption". But, you know, before they announce these guys, they vet them pretty well. Pretty well indeed. All of a sudden, boom. Bernie takes a hike. Another thing that may be in play here is he took a look at DHS, his prospective bosses, the money, the headaches and the doctrine and said, in the finest New Yawk tradition: "Fuck that noise".

You know, before they claimed victory and started hooting about their "man date", replete with accompaniment from the most rabid amongst us, they might have had a shot at some real talent. But hey, Bernie is a fast and loose guy. So are most of the guys from The Street. Fast, loose and talented.

I think they got them a Red State/Blue State problem. All the talent they need is in the Blue States.

Get my drift? If I was really successful and up for a job with these clowns, I wouldn't be interested, beyond a certain amount of egotism. After all, the handwriting about these guys is becoming increasingly clear. Would you really want your name associated with that?

Even Bernie, as hard as that is to believe.

1. I agree
Working w/ Bush & co really hurt Colin Powell's reputation. It could do the same for anyone else, so I can see why a non delusional person would not want a job in Bush's cabinet.

2. Bernie Shrugged.
You said it, Tandalayo. Perhaps we need to do the Ayn Rand Scenario and let the general strike begin. Without the workers, the leisure class starts to sweat. Then we call in the grand juries.

3. I have thought for a while...
That before it is all over, it will come to that. At the very least.

This will not go out with a whimper, a whisper, and a few pardons. Not these guys. Something very tranformative, even lurching, is coming to the national mood and not one arabic person will be involved.

4. Maybe Kerik has too many spiders in his closet
that wouldn't agree with the Christian Reich / * Ideology. Maybe he's not a Yes Monkey. Maybe he has too much dirt to be dig up that might hurt the Rove Image. Maybe he has enemies willing to offer the dirt. Course, so did *, but he became a born again.

So, maybe they require you become a born-again if you have dirt before they let you in, and then again, Kerik said f-that too.

Hmmm, doubt we'll get a book out of him, he's just barely launched on his pug career.

I don't think they have a problem finding talent, it seems that for some reason * is rewarding people that come out of nowhere. I think their problem is finding enough Yes Monkeys.
