Get Arnold ! We know he's a moron but he'll get our ratings up... |
|
The cable news shows are falling over themselves trying to get Arnold on their broadcasts. Even though he has nothing of substance to say and refuses to debate the other candidates, they still pretend he is a credible candidate. And it is they that are breaathing life into his campaign. Otherwise, he would have been gone days ago.
They are so transparent, it is difficult to believe that no one sees thru their motivations. Get Arnold on and our viewership will increase. Our ratings will be higher than our competitors. There will be nothing newsworthy or enlightening but our bottom line will improve. Show him throwing T-shirts, show him getting "egged", show him clodding to the microphones, anything that associates him with your networks. Maybe some of his star power will rub off on your professional journalists?

2. they think we want this |

The cable networks show their contempt for the American public by making the decision for us that we value celebrity over substance.
I'm starting the think that CNN is the best campaign manager Arnold has. They cover him doing everything but taking a crap (and that might be next).
Of course, if the Repukes are to be successful in their California coup d'etat they'll need the active cooperation of their corporate media friends. And they're getting it in spades.

Kerry thinks the anti-war Democratic base wants to hear military marches and macho bravado while the country is entrenched in a nightmare that he supported, while rejecting the plea of the vast numbers of his constituents--not to mention the millions around the globe.
What could he be thinking?
