Kerik on the cabinet of the US President? What were they thinking?
Edited on Sat Dec-11-04 02:50 PM by Hamlette
I kind of admired Kerik as a kid who pulled himself up by his bootstraps but over the last two weeks it has become obvious he did not.

I used to be a public defender, worked with cops all day for years. The ones you see on TV? Yeah, there are some like them. But there are a lot of cops who are thugs. I remember thinking "thank god they had jobs in the police force to go to otherwise they'd be out stealing cars."

Kerik reminds me of those cops. What where they thinking naming him to sit on the cabinet? Did they not vet him or is it hubris?

If Rudy recommended him, as it appears, why would Rudy take it? I assume he recommended Kerik because he didn't want it.

I'm lost on this ham fisted admin move. I thought Karl was smoother than this.

4. Did you see them both just dancing on CSPAN?
It was great. That guy had many serious issues. Why did they waste everyone's time with him.

At one point Kerik acted all teary eyed and the camera zoomed in right on his eye to see if he was crying.

Rudy pointed out that he would be the guy in charge of immigration and he have an illegal working for him.

5. After Ridge's boyish, soft spoken demeanor
Kerik has too much of an out and out thug image. And that's just the very tippy tip of the iceburg.

6. Thinking was not even in the room
when this beyond stupid decision was made. For Homeland Security you would think because terra and the war on terra is so important they would THINK to vet the guy in triplicate. It demonstrates how much Homeland Security is at the top of mind for the USA - not.

7. Um, it would have been too obvious to install him right after 9/11
so they waited? And then he like forgot to replace the nanny because he was too busy promoting his book.

9. I noticed in an msn story on the Kerik decline of the nomination
they ended up comparing the nomination to CLINTON's nominations and how he had 3 of them who had illegal immigrant nannies!!!! I swear, why does absolutely everything go back to being something Clinton did? This is like 2-year-old stuff! "Well, Clinton did it, Clinton did it, too!":puke:

11. too bad
i hoped the kerik blunder might be the big break.....the entire political systemm, including the fake democratic opposition, would have been fatally damaged by kerik's success....the mediawhores obviously looking out for bushinc....protecting bushco from their own hubris/stupidity.....too bad they couldn't do the same thing for the public, the people who pay the bills!
