Work in progress: "Why we pity the Right-Wingers"
I am trying to put together a letter to the editor which really should open some eyes (and whack the RWers, if possible). Feel free to add as you see fit; hell, feel free to use.

What I am considering as the theme is the many reasons why we pity them. (That would burn them up more, how dare the Lefties pity "US"! They're the pathetic ones!)

The first reason I can come up with is this:

They are so blinded for their hatred of Bill Clinton. They cannot get past the fact that there was a period of a few months when he had an improper relationship. During this time, he did not send American soldiers off to their deaths, he did not bankrupt the country. In fact, if they would lift off the veil of their hatred for a momentary peek at reality, they would see that their world around them improved greatly.

They blame the Left for all their ills. Unfortunately for them, many of their Right-thinking heroes have fallen from grace in ways worse than Clinton ever could. Bob Packwood kept a journal of his conquests, whether they were consensual or not. Many of their friends probably have been through exactly what Bill and Hillary had to go through when a spouse cheats. Did every one of these conservative couples immediately divorce and go their seperate ways? Well, you have multi-divorced Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, etc, you have Henry Hyde, who fathered a child during his "youthful indiscretions" which occurred at an age older than Bill Clinton was at the time of his indiscretion.

They feel that lying about a sexual dalliance is far more of a detriment to this nation than starting a war on tenuous reasons (at best). They feel that one death of a Janitorial staff member at an aspirin factory is enough to scream for removal of a President, but a President willing to throw soldiers' lives away by encouraging terrorists to "Bring it on!" (while safe behind several walls of security) is perfectly fine.

They feel that a terrorist act against the World Trade Center less than two months into a sitting President's term is his fault, yet a terrorist attack on the same location eight and a half months into a sitting President's term is a previous President's fault.

They feel that a President, in his last two months, should have personally been able to stop two guys in a rubber raft laden with explosives half a world away.

A man finds himself in way over his head and commits suicide, and it is all the First Lady's fault and that she's evil. Yet another First Lady actually admits that she killed an ex-boyfriend in a driving incident, and they say how wonderful she is.
