Troy Gunderson Jamestown (North Dakota)

I was shocked and angered as I watched the TV program “ER” Thursday night on NBC. This was its “CHRISTMAS” episode. I watched as the doctors and nurses played Santa Claus, giving gifts to needy people and covering sleeping homeless with new red blankets. I also watched as one doctor killed her own father as he lay in her living room.

Yes, he was sick and ailing and unable to care for himself, but it was the doctor who had the problem. The doctor was tired and stressed out and could not bring herself to let others care for her father. So she conveniently kills him as another doctor sits by and watches. Then to top it all off, the next morning, they both lie about how he died.

1. I watched that episode
and the letter writer is leaving out that the doctor's father (who had also been a doctor) had been begging her for some time to end his suffering.
