Would Bush sacrifice Cheney to win in 2004? |
|
Let's say it is July, 2004 and the Dems come out of the convention with a solid lead and the economy isn't doing well as the "jobless recovery" continues and Iraq is still in chaos.
Bush Sr. was counseled in 1992 to dump Quayle but he kept him, however, the son is said to be trying to learn from Poppy's mistakes (politically) Is it possible that Bush would dump Cheney--of course he would arrange to make it like it was Cheney's idea-- and put someone like Powell, Ridge, Rudy, or even Rice on the ticket help him win?
I think he would.

I think Cheney would sacrifice Bush is more like it. He's the one with the actual power.

And I think that Cheney would, and in fact, is considering it, hence AIPAC sending flowers to Dean & Clark

8. It's true. And now I'm really gettin' creeped out. |
|
Let's pretend that Cheney does in fact "sacrifice" the shrub. Politically speaking of course. Like, the shrub is found to be "unfit" for one reason or another. You get the picture.
Cheney gets the nomination, and a whole lotta sympathy votes. All the trouble with the economy, and Iraq, is conveniently swept under the rug. The blame goes with the shrub.
How's "President Cheney" sound to ya?
It could happen. Stranger things have happened.
