All the news breaks are leading with Rumsfeld/McCain. Trying to escape
the Kerik debacle. And they will be successful because the RW controls the media. Otherwise, if it were the Clinton administration, we would be hearing about someone like Kerik until after the new year.

1. I don't see how the Rumsfeld McCain fued helps them though
I mean McCain is just stating the obvious--Rumsfeld has really screwed up this war.

4. How it helps:
it takes the focus off President Bush. Keep in mind that the news is geared to reach the general public. Even republicans recognize that the war in Iraq has gone almost completely out of control. Rather than examine the most important issues (1- should we have invaded to begin with; 2-should we leave now) this changes it to: 1- Is Rummy to blame for the entire thing; and 2- can we "fix" it by increasing the # of troops?

If the administration can trade Rumsfeld's head for an increased military presence in Iraq, the two important questions are ignored, and we are at a point where the draft is necessary for "the good of the country."

3. Man, not even January and look at all the imploding!
This will certainly be an entertaining 4 years. It will only get worse. They love power but can't control it. Wreck the economy, wreck civil liberties, strut around like John Wayne, everything has a price, no debt goes unpaid.

Enjoy the show!
