What has Tommy Franks done to deserve a civilian award?
Other than campaign for Bush? Shouldn't any of his awards have come while he was still in the military?

Paul Bremer was a yes-man for Bush and George Tenent fell on his sword for him. I personally don't see what any of these three have done to deserve the nations highest civilian honor.

5. I worked with Tommy Franks in Korea
he commanded the 2nd Infantry Division while I was there.

The man was a good military commander, but a little bit of a nut too. He was well known for giving speeches at ceremonies without any preparation or notes (and we had a LOT of ceremonies there, battalion and brigade commanders would change out regularly).

A favorite quote from one of his speeches.... "Thanks for being who you are, thanks for doing what you do, and thanks for not being limp."

He was also known for being on the golf course every day by 4.

7. Oh my God I'm ill
This whole facade of a Democracy is making ill. I think I'm going to have to go into a cave and start ignoring it all.

George Tenet??????????????????????????????????

Sham, mockery, fakery, ruse, lie, are there enough adjectives for this travesty of what anything really means anymore?

All Tenet is being rewarded for is loyalty. That's it.

This country is becoming more and more like Stalinist Russia everyday.

Of course The President isn't the President and doesn't deserve to be President so of course he awards medals that have no meaning.

It's all a sham. And it disturbs me that no one really will say so but us.

8. This is ridiculous
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is given as an honor for distinguished civilian service in peacetime.

13. It's a goddam mockery.
I wouldn't be surprised if past recipients sent theirs back to the White House in protest of shrub making it meaningless.

It's now a garage sale trinket offered as a bribe.
