what exactly is the distinction between an "educational" group and an "advocacy" group
there's a right wing fundie group here in California--Campaign for Children and Families--that does take stands on bills before the State Legislature

Education group is to inform the public.
Advocacy group - you can not call it lobbying, but it is, they education the legislators of the issue. Can not buy them things just pass out information.

I may be wrong. My understanding, though, is that they CAN NOT endorse candidates, but they can take stands on issues, and do issue ads without endorsing a candidate for public office.
Anyone know if this is correct?
