Attn: Those who have not yet bought "Lies and the Lying Liars (etc)"... |

B&N finally has it on the discounted best seller shelf (30% off).
For those of you who have nothing against the megabookchains, or have no choice, or work part-time at one (*ahem*) here's your chance to save a little jack.

1. But only if you give them your personal info |
|
At least that's the way it is at the local B&N: 20% discount to all, 30% discount if you have their stupid membership card. No thank you; it's nobody's damn business what books I buy.
I took my cash and went to another large chain store (rhymes with "lorders"), where the 30% discount was available to everyone, without having to give your name and address.

2. Hm. Our B&N has the 30% for everyone - added 10% if you confess |
|
...the heinous sin of heresy. Or buy the membership card.
Must be some latitude (doubtful), or one of the stores is doing it wrong.

|
bought my copy at least 2 weeks ago.......
...hmmmmmm....it was the day after FAUXNews lost the lawsuit
B&N had it out front & center, maybe 10 feet in from front door on table with maybe 100 copies layed out.

The B&N with the split discount is in Western Washington, and it's the same deal they have on all their bestsellers -- 20% without a card, 30% with. It's all done with official B&N stickers on the books, so I guess they try different pricing strategies in different places.
Perhaps significant: B&N has no local megabookstore competition here. The other store I went to was about 30 miles away.
