How long will it be before they start blaming Clinton for the Iraq mess?
I'm already seeing callers to conservative radio talk shows, and LTTE's make this suggestion. How long before standard conservative fare is to blame the qugmire in Iraq on the Clinton Administration (which has been out of power for four years)?

3. has already been done by Rumsfeld...
in that widely televised incident where the soldier asked him about armor for vehicles. Rumsfeld made the statement that you, "go to war with the military you have." This was a backhanded comment intended to slam the previous administration for leaving the US military unprepared to go into combat operations.

6. Indeed
Hadn't thought about it that way, but the Clinton team had been out of power for over 2 years when the war started. And this gang was planning a war for Iraq since Inauguration Day.

4. Well they've always had their ducks in a row on this one
Particularly in regards to how our military hasn't defeated the enemy completely--that's because Clinton "gutted" the military. Of course that argument is kind of BS. At doing what the military has traditionally done, the military performed admirably. At occupying, which we aren't trained for, we aren't doing a very good job. Didn't the last time we tried it either.

Yes, we invaded too late
New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman wrote a paragraph worth repeating in his Dec. 10 column titled “It’s a suicide supply chain”:

“You see, we didn’t invade Iraq too soon. We actually invaded 10 years too late.”

It should be noted that the Clinton administration was responsible for eight of those years. Whose mess are we cleaning up?

OMFG!! Can you imagine what the pukes would have done if Clinton did do this after H.W. stopped!?!?!?!?!?

11. The Clinton policy worked
The sanctions kept Saddam from acquiring WMD materials; the inspectors saw to it that all WMD programs were discontinued by the mid-1990's; when Saddam refused to cooperate, targeted air strikes destroyed suspect facilities; no-fly zones contained Saddam and prevented him from ambushing the Shiites in the South and the Kurds in the North.

Clinton took considerable heat from the Left for these policies, but the lack of WMD's in Iraq vindicates these policies.

10. I've heard it already
Something to the effect that Clinton said Iraq was a danger, but left it to Bush to invade to take care of the danger that everyone, everyone agreed was there.

To me, it seems like blaming Clinton for not making the mistake that Bush made and not getting us into a fix earlier, but there you go.
