Someone seems to be pushing this Arab TV clip archive.
http://www.memritv.org

I saw this advertised on Drudge. If you go to their "about" page they make it seem like some passive thing to "bridge the language" gap" between the Arab world and the rest of the world, but it seems like the stuff on there is selected to inflame people here. It would be like if someone took Ann Coulter and Michael Savage and Michelle Malkin and brought it over there. They also mention they're a 501(c)3 organization, which would leave it open to finding out who's donating, right? We might find some surprises there. This seems fishy to me, especially since they advertise on Drudge along with the "Bush Country" t-shirts and what-not.

P.S. I'm already aware that I shouldn't be visiting Drudge's site and clicking on the banner ads.

1. According to opensecrets.org...
"501(c)(3) groups operate for religious, charitable, scientific or educational purposes. These groups are not supposed to engage in any political activities, though some voter registration activies are permitted."

2. Well yeah, they /say/ that...
...but it wouldn't be hard to select the clips and then CYA with this "educational" alibi.

3. Right. But what I'm saying is that finding the donors might be more...
...difficult since 501(c)(3)s aren't regulated by the FEC.

4. By the way, Juan Cole, writing for antiwar.com, agrees with you.

I don't know much about stuff like that. Thanks!
