Mine:

I have only good things to say about Andy and I feel I know him well. He was a lovely houseguest during the RNC and we've become real friends on his many visits to NY. Going to a restaurant with Andy is a lesson in activism. Before you know it he has the laptop out and he's demonstrating to the waitress how to hack the vote. He works the room like a pro politician and wins friends wherever he goes. He is tireless and hardworking and honest and truthful. And I hope he is doing well today and not too stressed and that he knows he has many, many friends here at DU.

AFAIK, and ALL other issues aside, the public posting of his dismissal was beyond the pale, utterly vicious, unnecessary, and wrong.

I've written Bev but can't imagine a convincing reason.

But I have read the notice about his firing posted on BBV.org, and I'll tell you, any neutral observer is going to look at that and figure that the problem here lies with whoever wrote up that description. Even of all of that shit was true, you'd have to be nuts to want it to become public knowledge through ANY channels, let alone by posting it on your business's website.

My condolences and best wishes to Andy and to everyone else who pinned their hopes on and put their money into BlackBoxVoting.org--including Bev, who I hope will eventually get herself some help.

...and sad as well for the personal loss you have suffered. I do not believe that death is the end, through my faith, and my own experience. May you find solace with all your family in the grace of the Season. Your sister was blessed to have a brother as passionate about the world. :-)


About how you were treated in BBV--well, I am a clergy wife with long experience, among other roles, and have seen many adults react as toddlers or younger. Usually the person gets stuck at the age the severest trauma was experienced, and one limps through life just barking at people for no apparent reason. (In fact, control issues are usually evidence of an "out of control" childhood.)

You and Bev turned up SO MUCH, were the FRONT LINE that led the charge, when the rest of America rubbed our sleepy eyes. Sorry for how it ended, but do not diminish what you both have done. And take what she evidently said at the end (I purposely have not read much about this) with a load of salt, and clearly her problem.
