CNNfn signs off... there goes CNN International, too.
CNNfn just signed off for good, which I would otherwise cheer, except now, US viewers no longer have access to CNN International.

In the late-night hours, and weekends, CNNfn simulcasted CNN International to American viewers. It had become the only version of CNN that I could tolerated, and I'm very sad to lose access to it.

Anyone have any idea if CNN International will take the place of CNNfn on cable outlets? Doubtful, but if anyone has the scoop I'd love to hear it.

1. CNNfn was much better than CNBC.
They had more voices on the left than the others did. CNBC is another Reich Wing mouth piece.

3. If we all stop watching them, more of their stations will fall.
I feel no remorse for the loss of any CNN networks, Sorry, not after Nov 2.
Can't do it!

4. Call your cable company
and ask about Newsworld International (a CBC cable channel) - Al Gore recently bought the rights to broadcast it in the US.

6. My cable service currently carries Newsworld International.
Thing is, it's just not that newsworthy. Mostly, they show repeats of CBC in-depth news stories; it's not a good place to turn when events are breaking, as CNN International was.

I can remember the horrible Madrid bombings... as the story was breaking, CNNfn was on its CNN International feed, and they had incredible coverage, while CNN Atlanta was showing a repeat of Toby Keith on the Larry King Show, as I recall.

Now, if my cable company carried CBC, I'd be happy...

8. I just hope
things continue to go smoothly with Gore, the agreement gives him no editorial control (zero, zip, nada) and it's going to stay that way - which means that someday when there's a dem back in the white house there might be some friction, because they give no one a free ride.

7. CNN International Changed
Maybe it was my imagination, but it seemed as if even CNN International started to change in the past few months. There were more American anchors and the reporting started to sound more like regular CNN ... that is with a decided radical Republican slant and well, more mediocre ...

9. Yeh. And they always had that loud annoying British guy...
... you know the one. He just never seemed serious enough to anchor the news to me, although he would've made a great host for "The Amazing Race" or something. :D

10. Richard Quest
Hello, I'm Richard Quest, and I'm not wearing any pants!

BTW, we still get CNNI on Charter Cable up near channel 122 or so. It's two slots above BBC America (at 120). CNNfn used to be at 121, I think (Charter carries both).

11. Ya know, I'll bet he isn't wearing any pants.
Yes, that's the guy. I think he's just wretched as a news anchor.

I'm jealous of your cable company... is CNN International available on Direct TV?

12. Good
now to get rid of the other 2 CNN channels and all their worthless right wing garbage and empty celebrity worshiping puff crap like Larry GD King.

14. Except that, at times, CNN-I actually resembled a real news channel.
Broadcasting mostly from London, they were able to avoid the flag-waving Navy-Seals-Rock jingoism so common here in the US of A.
