Viguerie interview on NPR Fresh Air today. |
|
Unfortunately, the air was more like poisonous today.
He aired all his grievances with the world in general and liberals in particular, his satisfaction at the way things were going, his discontent about not having ALL of it his way, and I do mean ALL, along with some labeling and name calling. All in all, an instructive but highly unpleasant session.

I can't remember who the guest is, though. But it'll be way easier to listen to. I had to get up and leave today; I couldn't stand to listen one second longer (turning off the radio wasn't an option, I work at an NPR affiliate).

He was pretty ugly. Hypocritical, lying, mean, spiteful. Basically he showed himself to be exactly what he was accusing democrats of being.

With style, flair, finesse, elan' and savoire faire, kick his ass to the curb.
Brock knows Viguerie well.

by any stretch of the imagination. His media matters is great in a way, but how is it he has interposed his often ludicrous conservative ideology into a position of being a spokesperson and arbiter on vital issues?
No matter how great or legitimate it is there is something very poisonous in his two hat representation itself. Has he lost support or being ignored by the media for being a "turncoat"? If his other positions were not so bad and obnoxious themselves AND you could show me he had other than a mild-to-zero effect on his fellow conservatives I would be happier.
I suppose the only way a journalist can verify his credentials is to get blacklisted and suicided in a dark alley. I don't listen to NPR at all anymore for any reason. The soft moves by the right are as insidious and non-representative of the naive audience are as bad as the charcoal souled extremists given a respectful soapbox.

the interviewer was definitely "clarifying" some of his (Viguerie) most extreme positions? They were mild challenges, to be sure, but they did highlight the extremeness and hypocrisy of his statements.

at its best. It is also why eventually the RW will take it down. Radio for the victim class in denial.
