4. I wish he was more partisan

He feels free to speak his mind when he's a guest on someone else's show. On the Daily Report, however, he feels a need to be balanced. I don't agree. He's a progressive, the show should be progressive. He should be as partisan as he feels. The balance comes from O'Reilly, Hannity, Scarborough, Carlson and the rest of the Hitler Youth.

8. Bottom line Comedy Central

Is paying him to make people laugh. That being said , I think what Stewart did on Crossfire was the ballsiest(is that a word?) thing a comedian has done in this country since Lenny Bruce used to dare the cops to arrest him. The daily show is a perfect satire. It plays both sides of the fence because Stewart knows that's his best chance to keep the message going. recently I was having lunch and overheard a table of well-dressed corporate types discussing politics. Probably 50/50 split down the table as far as pol. party. Heard one mention he watched this show called TDS for the first time. It was near election time and to paraphrase, this guy said: "it was hilarious, but smart. I think he had more real news on the show than most of cnn types". As Stewart said to Tucker Carlson when grilled as to why his COMEDY show doesn't ask harder edged questions of political figures: "The show that leads into us is puppets making prank phone calls what's wrong with you?".
They make fun of the absurdities of our government by clever satire about the media's coverage (or usually lack of) of our gov's actions. I don't think it would be as effective if the show went into full liberal mode. For one the republicans that frequently come on his show would cease and would simply attack him. Instead I think they respect and fear him.
