to Democratic Party supporters....
What would the Democratic Party have to do before you would quit supporting it?

Do you have any limits to your allegiance to the Party or will you support the Democratic Party no matter what?

1. Nominate a guy like "Joementum" for president...
Or make someone like Al From DNC Chairman.

And even THEN, I'll still be a Democrat...and concentrate on activity at the state level.

:kick:

B-)

2. Let's just say that it is treading on thin ice now.
Better stick by its human rights principles or ... I just might move on. I'm 99% sure, though, that I can work things by belonging to the 'progressive wing' of the Democratic party. Don't think that I will be donating to them anytime soon, though. Will support orgs like Progressive Democrats of America and Democracy for America.

3. A realistic, worthwhile alternative would have to appear
Went all out for the third party route with John Anderson in 1980. Felt I ended up with Reagan for my efforts. Others pushed for Nader in 2000 and we ended up with the Chimp. As Dean said this week, it is easier to fix the Democratic party than to create a new one from scratch. Looking at the awful mess Bush created, there's no way you can say things would have been the same had Gore won.

6. I don't know....
....not necessarily Greens or Socialist but something new, something fresh, something innovative, something ours, something progressive, something competitive for the 21st century, something like Dean/Trippi tapped into during the primaries....I don't know....I can't keep supporting the Democrats when they're not....

7. I feel the same way but we would have to get everyone
in on it and that is hard. But MoveOn has the right idea when they said if the democratic party doesn't change they just might take over. I would support them taking over and help them out. I donated many times during the election to them.

I am tired of the weenies in our party kissing ass to the repubs. I think a lot of people in our party have lost respect just like you would for any person who doesn't stand up for themselves. We need a party that stands up for itself!

8. Time to stop barking
and start biting. The question is what will it take to overthrow
the power now gained by this evil ugly Republican brainwashing
regime?
