FYI if interested.

3. Watching it; some torn up people |
|
baring their souls.
My heart goes out to them.
The program started out by saying 1 in 6 soldiers in Iraq come home with PTSD. Now they're saying it might be higher, which I'm sure it is.

4. I honestly do not understand how any of them can come . . . |
|
home and not be affected by what they've seen. It has to affect everyones' psychi and their soul to a certain extent.
A family friend's dad killed himself about 15 years ago. Shot himself in the head. He was a Vietnam vet. However, this happened in 1991, the day before my husband and I were to get married. We were going to cancel everything and go be with our friends, but they told us we couldn't do that to everyone else who had made a trip in and all the plans. I didn't care and neither did my husband, we wanted to be there for them. We were so torn in what to do.
It is suppose to continue the rest of the week I think. I'll post again on tonights Discussion board.
It was heartbreaking to hear some of their stories.

5. West Coast..., not on yet. |

KGO radio/Bernie Ward and Ray Taliaferro have been talking about the very sick and emotionally ruined soldiers coming back. Some ending up on the street/homeless shelters, sleeping in cars, etc etc..
People call in to tell their stories; it's very sad.
Ray had a counselor/former soldier talk about "what happens" to the mind and nervous system when one has been exposed to constant stress war related hideousness... Not good. The man also explained how he helped himself and now helps others to deflate and reenter society. Some things never go away though..

6. Quite a contrast to the flag-waving dog$hit that Tweety had.. |
|
..on his show tonite.
From Walter Reed he was showcasing all the happy, optimistic soldiers who had body parts blown off and couldn't stress enough how much they wanted to get back with their "guys" in Iraq.
God, when will these people start telling the truth?
