FUCK THIS GODDAMNED BULLSHIT!
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 12:41 AM by JohnnyCougar
I swear to fucking God if they pass this second PATRIOT act, I'm gonna.....{message has been truncated due to threat of fascist government tracking me down and claiming I am a terrorist}

http://www.rickieleejones.com/political/patriotact.htm

SECTION 501 (Expatriation of Terrorists) expands the Bush administration's "enemy combatant" definition to all American citizens who "may" have violated any provision of Section 802 of the first Patriot Act. (Section 802 is the new definition of domestic terrorism, and the definition is "any action that endangers human life that is a violation of any Federal or State law.") Section 501 of the second Patriot Act directly connects to Section 125 of the same act. The Justice Department boldly claims that the incredibly broad Section 802 of the First USA Patriot Act isn't broad enough and that a new, unlimited definition of terrorism is needed.

SECTION 106 is bone-chilling in its straightforwardness. It states that broad general warrants by the secret FSIA court (a panel of secret judges set up in a star chamber system that convenes in an undisclosed location) granted under the first Patriot Act are not good enough. It states that government agents must be given immunity for carrying out searches with no prior court approval. This section throws out the entire Fourth Amendment against unreasonable searches and seizures.

SECTION 313 provides liability protection for businesses, especially big businesses that spy on their customers for Homeland Security, violating their privacy agreements. It goes on to say that these are all preventative measures - has anyone seen Minority Report? This is the access hub for the Total Information Awareness Network.

1. They had two very good models
The Alien and Sedition Act of 1797 and... the Enabling Act of 1933... ain't it lovely?

That is why more than ever OUR liberties are at risk... this is OUR challenge.

Hey look on the bright side, if they deport some of us we may be able to continue the fight as poltical refugees... and yes their terrarists may include people like me, who ahem, carry a copy of the bill of righrs.

12. Basically you will become a person with no citizenship
and a displaced person... technically. I am sure many a country will accept political refugees since it will help them to fight this... we are not alone, and cuba is not the place to go... Western Europe is

5. And people wonder why I want to shrink the feds and their power
And give more to states and local regions. Give a body of people some power and they will seek to grow it, always. Best way to keep them in line is remove funding and their abilities to grow power.

The feds have a place - keeping them in it won't be easy. They are there to serve us, not us them. They have become a monopoly which needs broke up.

10. heh - let's have a party
Bring over the people you know, from work-school-neigbors-etc. Have an election and appoint some of them to be the rule makers for the rest. They decide what you must do - and if you don't you will be punished and lose all you have potentially.

Now if they are all people you know you can probably work out things pretty well for each other by pooling funds and working towards a common goal. Health care, support for each other, area defense, and so on.

Now elect people who you don't know and have totally different ideas, people far removed from your world and local community. People who don't even live near you and who have lots of money and cushy lives. Let them make the rules and laws you must live by. Folks in the bible belt might decide you should not be able to have porn, cause it is 'bad' in their realm. Other folks might decide you need to fork over more money so they can send some kids to war to help out the oil business and other rich people. Basically - they care less about you and your community and more about what they want. Poor people are not represented, but they might throw em a bone. Middle class might be scared into giving more money and getting less freedom for security. Health care will be given to those in power because they are more important, they make the decisions for all of us across the entire US after all.

Power in the hands of good people can get good results, but give one body too much power and it will eventually end up in the wrong hands - an attempt to good will become and attempt to rule for the self interest of the few over the interest of the many.

Power corrupts. Always has, always will. And the more we give, the more they take. * is a problem because of what we have given him the ability to do through ceeding power to a small group. Drop the power of the feds and * would not be as big a threat to us all as he is now.

6. Um... I get the feeling even THIS Supreme Court..
Would have to rule those sections of Patriot II un-constitutional. I really do think Scalia, Thomas and Rhenquist would be on the short end of a 6-3 hole on those facist sections.

Now about all those OTHER sections...:grr:

B-)

9. JohnnyCougar, I could have sworn this has already passed! I can go
find the link. The Patriot Act II is a done deal. Unless, I'm confused about it having certian sections not passing. I'm really not good at understanding this kind of stuff, but I can go find the link to it going through the House of Representatives, if you'd like.

16. Has it been passed?
I certainly hope not. I would have heard about Feingold voting against this by now if it had, I would think.

post #13 above. And, they haven't called it the Patriot II.

14. Gulags: appearing soon in a community near you.
The real reality is getting too scary.

I think I'll go see if I can create an alternate reality. One where Kerry was elected.

What's that you say?
He was?
Damn, was it on the news?
