Need a laugh?
Some recent quotes by the Bush Administration.....
12/15: "Justice ought to be fair," the president said. "Those who have been hurt ought to have their day in court. But a judicial system run amok is one that makes it really hard for small businesses to stay in business."

12/15: Vice President Dick Cheney opened the conference, saying it was critical to make Bush's tax cuts permanent during his second term while achieving broader reforms in the tax code and bolstering Social Security.

12/15 Treasury Secretary John Snow: "We are the envy of the world."

12/15 Harvard economics professor Martin Feldstein: "I'm pleased to say the economy is now in very good shape."

12/15 “We’ll do everything we can in the upcoming legislative session to send a signal to the markets that we’ll deal with our deficit, which, hopefully, will cause people to want to buy dollars,” Bush said yesterday.

12/15 “The policy of my government is a strong-dollar policy,” Bush said

12/15 “I told the prime minister that social security reform will be at the top of my agenda,” Bush said,

12/15 "Deficit reduction -- short-term, long-term -- and obviously good monetary policy helps create the foundation for a strong economy," Snow said

QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, George Gedda of AP . You have been to OSCE , NATO, and now to the EU. Can you cite concrete examples of the ways in which the United States relations with Europe are on the mend?

SECRETARY POWELL: I don't know that our relations with Europe were in as much disrepair as is claimed. And therefore, that there was this huge gap that had to be breached. Were there differences last year? There certainly were. But did we in the same year expand the NATO Alliance? Yes we did. Did we support Europe as it expanded? Yes. Did we work together on the Sudan? Yes. We worked together in so many areas. Did we expand our presence in Afghanistan so that the Afghan people could have a successful presidential election? Yes. So we have done a lot together.

1. Good Ones!
Here's a good quote from my hillbilly neighbor about Iraq:

"It's not that bad there"

Funny in a totally sick ignorant kind of way.
