this morning. In response to a shill for the administration's band-aid proposal to suggest that the long-term unemployed go to community colleges to retrain for "new kinds of jobs" (read: Wal-Mart greeter). She made him sweat as she laid out the facts that the kinds of jobs most college-educated Americans train for are disappearing or going over seas. She was far more eloquent than I could ever hope to be. Did anyone else catch it?

network jobs...my dh had one of those jobs...he was a network engineer for 18 yrs w/the same company and his job was outsourced to China two years ago...he is now working for a company as a systems security engineer for a company that takes care of systems for companies that no longer have on site network personel....(lower salary, less benefits, etc...cheaper for the companies though)
