is a Democracy anymore.
Joe Smith was in a car accident in late 1994. He was in a coma for 10 years. He woke up miraculously just a couple of weeks ago. The doctors helped him recuperate and sent him on his way after the 2004 Election.
Mr. Smith is walking down the street and he sees a billboard that says "George W. Bush. Our Leader". Mr. Smith is a little concerned, and he doesn't know who Bush is, but he keeps on walking anyway.
Smith then returns home to his wife and kids. He turns on the TV and sees that his favorite show was replaced with religious programming. The man on the show indirectly says people should vote for Bush. (It was a rerun)
Now Mr. Smith is very concerned, he knows that religious leaders should not be telling people who to vote for.
Mr. Smith then wanted to find out who this Bush guy was. So he researched the Internet for this Bush character and he found out that Bush had a criminal record and people voted for a man who failed to prevent the greatest terror attack in history. He also found out about Diebold, a company that provides machines for the Elections, but is very pro-Republican. Mr. Smith also found out about ChoicePoint, a company that scrubbed African-American voters in 2000, and this helped Bush win the first Election.
Joe Smith then asks his wife if America is still a free country. She replies by telling him that she just doesn't know anymore.
THE END

first off, no one favorite TV shows have been replaced with religious TV. TV is more secular now than it ever was.

7. My father would have problems, too |

My poor deceased Pops wouldn't recognize events either. What's more, how could I explain to this WWII vet that Germany and France are allies against the USA, Russia is a Capitalist nation, China is leading the world in industrial production, and the United States has become a fascist country?
