God Save us from The Christian Underground (Creepers)
Brought to you by the most incredibly hateful Traditional Values Coalition (who says the movie Shrek 2 destroys family values)
http://ydr.com/story/mike/27843/

First the Freepers, and now the Creepers...
http://www.christian-underground.com/

Here's a sample of what we're in for:

Freedom of Speech? Religious Liberty?
God exalted Him…and gave Him the name that is above every name… (Phil
2:9-11)

Schoolteachers and public officials who dare mention the name of Christ risk
censure, rejection, and even legal action. In more and more communities an
antichrist spirit prevails because Christians refuse to take a stand. The
following are a few instances of attacks on constitutional freedoms in 2004:

...Oregon students were prohibited from giving religious Christmas cards. A
Massachusetts second-grader was forbidden from reading a Christmas story to
classmates.

...Kentucky officials refused to give a church permission to stage a live
Nativity scene in a public square. A Florida city authorized a Menorah
display, but rejected Christmas symbols.

...A Denver church’s float was excluded from the annual “Parade of Lights”
because it included Christmas carolers and a “Merry Christmas” banner.

...A Washington principal banned Charles Dickens’ “Christmas Carol" because
Tiny Tim prayed, "God bless us everyone."

...Florida and Chicago schools included Hanukkah, Kwanzaa & other ethnic and
religious songs, but not Christmas songs, in their holiday concerts. School
districts in Florida and New Jersey banned Christmas carols.

...Macy’s and other department stores have abandoned “Christmas” terminology
while Target no longer welcomes Salvation Army bells or kettles outside
their stores.

...Public schools in CA, FL, NY, DE, VA, NH, MN, and GA accommodated Muslim
students during Ramadan with special time off, rooms to pray, and speakers
to talk about the Muslim fast. One school urged non-Muslim students and
teachers to join in the fast.

Thankfully, there are groups devoted to counter these attacks against our
constitutional freedoms. The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ)
created a Christmas Information Center
(http://www.aclj.org/Issues/Resources/Document.aspx?ID=883 ) to help
believers, churches and civil jurisdictions deal with such assaults.

Please Join Us in Focused Prayer:

...Father, STIR Your People. DEFEAT the ACLU & all who war against You!

...GIVE FAVOR to those devoted to the defense of righteousness: the ACLJ,
Alliance Defense Fund, Liberty Counsel & others. Help us to support them
with prayer (Ex 3:21; Nu 10:35; Ps 5:10-12; 35:26-27; 44:1-8; 83:1-5, 8-13;
Mt 18:10).

1. Sigh. Who says that anybody can't pray anywhere they want?
All anybody asks is that they not be forced to pray to somebody else's deity.

These same people would squawk loudest if they were forced to pray to Allah.

I've decided to ignore them. Engaging them in argument just encourages them to feel put-upon.

7. Exactly!
Why don't these dumbnuts try being Jewish during the holiday season? THAT would be a real, major eye-opener for them, I guarantee it. They have no idea just how easy they have it and how much in the majority they really are. I'm a liberal Christian and I'm damned sick and tired of these people hijacking my religion and completely twisting and distorting it, making it almost unrecognizable from what Christ and God intended. A

nd I'm also tired of being told I'm not a "real" Christian by these people. They leave the hungry, homeless, sick, and lonely alone while ranting and railing about gays, career and childless women and (gasp! horror! shock!) the content of movies and TV, and sticking their nose into the private lives of total strangers. What Would Jesus Do, indeed!

3. WTF?
"Public schools in CA, FL, NY, DE, VA, NH, MN, and GA accommodated Muslim
students during Ramadan with special time off, rooms to pray, and speakers
to talk about the Muslim fast."

Oh my god, Muslims! Eek! Cultural awareness, bad! Sheesh. Well, they named themselves aptly. They're Creepy with a capital C.

4. Here's a sample of what we're in for:
Good deeds done in private... without the knowledge of others are the only ones that will be remembered... so it is written.

Thinking that praying where it is inappropriate is somehow gonna get you some sort of in with the almighty is BS.

Wearing your religion on your sleeve is a lame attempt at proving to yourself that you are above or more justified than someone who doesn't.

This is not what Christ preached... this is not what he taught.

Taking his message and twisting it in this manner is a sure way to get on the wrong track. This is using the teachings of a peacemaker to justify belligerance and oppositional defiance.

For many will come to him on that day and say "Lord Lord, but we prophecied in your name etc..."... and he will say "Depart from me, I never knew you".

9. Thanks for the tip!
It looks like a great organization. Here is a quote from their home page in which they warn us about the "Christian Dominionists."

"Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ -- to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.

It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

It is dominion we are after.

World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land -- of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ. "

Pretty scary. These guys must be stopped.

10. Scary shit.
These guys differ from the Taliban, only in the fact that they've managed to hijack the political machinery of the most powerful nation on Earth. People that they control, or influence strongly have posession over the greatest arsenal of WMD in the history of the world, and their beliefs specifically encompass the violent end of the world as we know it.:scared: :nuke:

8. Somehow, I just can't see Jesus supporting these dolts.
"Yeah, you wanna throw rocks at me? Spit at me? Whip me with thorny threads and put a thorny crown on my head? Yeah? You wanna? Well, DO IT AT YOUR PERIL."

Yeah, I remember that attitude on the Via Dolorosa. Just like.

17. Ok Christian Underground...
...you say you want to pray where you want when you want. Fine by me, I would never stop you from doing that.

Now all I am asking for is the ability to hold my partners hand in public, are you going to stop me from doing that?

18. Funny how these people scream bloody murder about the godless ACLU
and then when they need the ACLU to defend their right to hold Klan meetings, it's okay.

It's like hating trial lawyers; the minute one of those Swift Boat vets got injured by a drunk driver, I'm sure they'd be in court right next to a trial lawyer, looking for their big payout.

19. People already can pray where they want.
They just can't force others to pray and they can't lead prayer for an entire group (unless it's a school religious group).

I do love it though, another CU.

20. Sounds like a threat to me!
So here is my reply to them:

I am here, I am queer, get the FUCK out of my private life! I will be gay where I want, when I want, and if you try to persecute me, do so at your own peril; understanding that I will not be your victim, I will be your undoing! That is not a hollow threat like you spineless, whining fucks, that is a PROMISE from a gay man sick and tired of your fucking "holier than thou morality!" Better remove that beam from your eye, before commenting on the splinter in mine!

Whew! That felt good! :)
